Dusty murals & yellow sash painted cows --- Got to love our supporters' passion

And bless their yellow and black heart, Tiges fans are moving hella swiftly. It’s barely been 12 hours since gun midfielder Dustin Martin took home the Brownlow Medal with a record-breaking number of votes, but the all-conquering hero of Punt Road has already been enshrined with a mural in the shadow of the MCG.

The Rowena Corner Store, an institution of the Tiger Heartland, sprouted the exceptionally good tribute very quietly overnight, with the side of the store now baring Dusty’s trademark hardened visage.

The mural is a collaboration between artists Danny Awes and Dvate, put together with a little help from Puma and the Richmond Football Club themselves.

Yeah, no denying it: That bloody rules.

Tigers fans have already been drawn to the mural, on the corner of Rowena Parade and Alfred Street in Richmond, paying homage to the great man ahead of his biggest challenge this weekend.

Black cattle get fluoro yellow stripe in Tiger tribute

Who said cattle were just there for milk and meat? Not this bunch of Dederang farmers.

Sitting together in their local on Saturday, a charming little pub on the Kiewa Valley Highway in the state's north east, Glen Barton had an idea.

A footy fanatic and farmer has painted his herd of cattle as the Richmond Football Club in the lead-up to the grand final.

Giddy with excitement after his football team the Tigers had just won the preliminary final, Barton yelled to his son and his friends: "Let's paint the cows!"

Barton's son Corey thought his dad might be half serious, but didn't realise how serious until the next morning when he and his friends got a call from Glen asking them to come over to his cattle farm wearing painting gear.

"When he suggested it, we had all started laughing," recalled Corey.

"I knew he was half serious and in the morning, sure enough, he called us to come round."

Using a bright and contrasting scheme that might have triggered a glint in the eye of Andy Warhol, the Barton boys pulled out animal-friendly paint (branding fluid) and got to work on Glen's 14-strong herd.

"We already had the paint in the shed because it a paint meant for animals, we normally use it to help identify sick cows," said Corey.

The farmers painted all 14 cows, and gave them numbers into the bargain. Corey's favourite is number four, painted in honour of Dustin Martin.

By Monday, motorists started stopping in front of their farm to take pictures.

Then someone posted it on Facebook and Corey and Glen's phones have not stopped ringing since.

The paint will last about 30 days but Corey imagines that if the Tigers win this Saturday the livestock might get another coat.

"If they win, I might even put them in the yard and paint them again."
