Such a shame. The kids are the ones we need fit and here we go again one of our kids gets injured.

We have only really had trainor and Faull stay fit of our draftees and in a better situation they would have had to work a lot harder for some of the games they have got.

Almost a wasted year when it comes to our draftees and promising kids.
Lalor 11 interupted games, Hotton yet to play, Algar what two games, Armstrong injured early in the season, Smillie zero games with only Faull and Sims getting games and staying fit but clearly needing a break for awhile now.. Throw in McAuliffe with another injury interupted year  we have run over a chinaman with the way its panned out.

I reckon all who have played showed me the can perform at the highest level. While the continuity of footy is a problem, I cannot remember the last time
I saw so much promise in a first year crop of young tigers
"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

Don't often get 7 good picks in strong drafts.

Several mocks / rankings had alger around pick 20 too..

Jasper Alger
(Pick 58)

A natural with forward craft and nous, Alger broke through for his AFL debut as the sub in round 15 against the Western Bulldogs.

The Gippsland product kicked two goals against Adelaide in his first full game before injuring his ankle against Geelong in round 18.

He had kicked 15 goals in 10 VFL matches prior.

Richmond’s head of development, Sam Lonergan’s lowdown

What stands out? He's a genuine crafty forward who has moves and goal sense. He’s got serious aerial power as well. It won’t take long before we see him sitting on someone's head, which is a little bit different to the other half-forwards we've got in the AFL at the moment. He certainly brings a different mix to the table.

What’s he like? He was a Richmond supporter growing up, so there's this emotional attachment to want to succeed and prove to the club that he can be a great player for us. We’re starting to see the fun, cheeky, confident side coming out of him. It just shows he's starting to really find his feet and feel comfortable.

Where will he play? Right now, he’s a pure forward, a high half-forward. We’ve seen him play on the wing in the VFL, so there's definitely exposure to other roles. But he’s a forward to begin with.

Reckon he showed more than enough this year to suggest he plays next year in one of the small forward roles. May even be able have some midfield time.

We can say the same about Hotton atm. He is a mid but is also a top notch classy forward so he would get one of the other small forward spots with plenty of mid rotations.

I think Mansell with his toughness and good pressure gets the final gig for the small forwards.

That leaves Seth Campbell in limbo but im adamant he is a potential running machine with great attributes for a wing role.

Atm i dont see a spot for Green or Rioli.

Geez next year i hope Yze shows more forsight and courage and plays more of the kids together and addresses some of the glaring deficiencies the team has. Most of all i hope his eyes are locked onto the future and not the here and now.
