The right man won it.

Rioli has been ok, but Palmer is already Fremantles number 1 midfielder.

McKinley from West Coast should have gotten more votes.

Kreuzer hasn't impressed me at all, but that's to be expected from a ruck prospect, he needs 3-4 seasons.

all palmer has proved this year is that he can get the ball, and 50% of the time stuff up once he gets it. may as welll call itthe kane johnson award

everyone has stated that "palmer" will win it but "cotchin" is the best of the bunch. well that means that in 2008 , cotchin proved with the quality of his footy that he was the standout. thus cotchin should have won it

next year palmer will be tagged and not get a tough, rioli, will find teh foward pocket even more difficult, and cotchin will poll 20 brownlow votes!

Let me rephrase...

The guy who deserved it most for his 2008 season received the award.

There is no doubt Cotchin will clearly be the best player from the 2007 draft.

LOL at Dawk fans teasing the Blues for having a cry over Fev only getting 99, only to now have a big cry over Cyril not winning the Rising Star.

I think your forgetting X that Cotchin made a few mistakes this year too.
Both Palmer and Ibbotson were outstanding this year and Palmer rightly deserves this award.

Healy on 3aw tonight said he thought there was a lot of speculation in the votes choosing Cotchin. He does expect though that Cotchin will become the best of this group but had him at 6 or 7. Mike said that's the popular view. He thinks there's a lot of Gary Ablett jnr in Cotch - the balance, poise and vision. He thinks Kreuzer will be up with the best too as big blokes take longer and he's probably influenced as many games as the others. Healy agreed which is why he voted for Kreuzer.

So according to Healy, speculating on Kruezer was justified, but people who speculated on Cotchin got it wrong. What a doofus.  ::)

Congratulations to Rhys, Junior & Cotchin as well as all nominees.

IMHO the selectors got it right for the 2008 season as played during the H&A rounds.
