* Despite the MCG drainage system being the best there is, with the amount of rain we've had it'll be a wet soppy affair. A territory battle. The team that reveals in contested footy and surge footy will come out on top today.
* We welcome back Rioli today.
* Garthwaite - Impressive U18s. A David Astbury clone. Very popular lad. Huge task playing on Hawkins at stages.
* Contigency meeting considered Townsend as a late change but elected to stay as it is. Chemistry of the team matters. 4 changes was enough.
* 100 minutes for a game is about right. Season is too long. Harder to keep younger teams and players in general motivated for another 10 weeks when your side is out of finals contention. Why we are now seeing blowouts.
* Like Dusty the week before, decided to take the conservative approach with Astbury and take the one week.
* Won't be doing a Paul Sproule and address the players at 1/4 & 3/4 time huddle with an umbrella.
