A moment to salute our stella home and away season.
« on: August 26, 2018, 11:02:26 PM »
18 wins and only 4 losses.  Let's let that sink in.

Have created MCG history with most consecutive victories.

Beaten Geelong twice. Ditto Collingwood and Essendon .Conceeded only 17 points against Brisbane.

Last time we won 18 games was 36 years ago.

We have a superior percentage than that great 1982 side.

Like the 82 side we have a Rioli who is pure silk.

We even have a Coleman medalist .

I’ve enjoyed it but it would be like getting pregnant without having the baby (I had another analogy but thought this was less crass)
"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

I’d say it’d be like finally getting a date with that bird from work you always fancied...

... only to finish the night with a peck on the cheek at the door.

Then you find out Monday morning on the grapevine she went back out after you left and potted Mark from finance.

.... Last year we were Mark  :rollin

It's been a magnificent year so far as many expected we wouldn't be able to back it up. We've made people like Grant Thomas look like fools.
My biggest fear is we will be like Collingwood in 2011 - be the most dominant side all year and have just one bad quarter when it matters most.
I've had this anxiety building up inside me for months now... It's clear it's our premiership to lose. Just want it over and done with so I can enjoy our success.
I guess this is better than crying about missing out on finals by percentage like we have in the past.

Our best H/A season ever in terms of most wins (higher % than 72 and 82 as mat said).

Our 7th best H/A season in terms of % only.

Out of interest, our 1920 team was our best ever statistically. Best winning H/A record (88%) as well as highest ever % (146.4).

We all want Back to Back flags but we are not like the dogs. Our obligation as a club was to try and defend the crown with honor
and we have done that. Our campaign has been worth of a premiership team and club and for that we should applaud the club and
the players. Of course back to back is a dream that may be only a few weeks away, hope to god our players give everything now
and maybe just maybe there will be another AFL Premiership Cup coming to Punt Rd at the end of September.
