Club Corner - 10th April

Paul Armstrong interview

* Will op tomorrow night. Both ligaments done at the same time. They were expecting he'll have to wait a week or two till the swelling went down but he's right to have the operation. Still young (only 19 now and will be 20 when he returns) so his future is still bright and ahead of him.

* Sarge back in 6 weeks. Didn't believe the Dome surface had anything to do with it but mentioned it's been an unlucky ground for us injury wise.

* Staff - had ongoing issues with calf. Expect him to be available this week.

* Knobel available as well. A precaution both didn't play on the weekend.

* Chaffey - got a 1/2 game and now full game into him. Match fitness now the issue as to which level he plays this week.

* Hall - he had a good preseason so his injury is a minor blip unlike Chaffey in terms of fitness. Available.

* Coburg - young group (U23). Hughes 4.3. Had a chance to kick 6. JON mentioned as well as having a good game.

* 3 year guys had good games against the Saints - Jackson, Raines, etc... Pressure from below (Lids) for them to step up and come on. Gave Raines a wrap.

Patrick Bowden interview

* Near enough but near enough isn't good enough. At the end of the year you'll look back at the ladder see we were 0-2. Need to put a full game together. If you're lacking in any aspect(s) then that makes a big difference.

* Need to make a commitment that round 1 never happens again. We need to work to improve and score a win.

* 8 games last year. Hopes to improve alot on that here. Relatively happy with is form but still believes he has areas to work on.

* Raines, Foley, Jackson - future of the club. Heart goes out to Will.

* All that matters to him is the Club. It's great he's playing with his brother but he wants success for Richmond. Even if he's in the twos if Richmond is being successful then that's all that matters.

* Asked about his freak goal - happy but humble about it. Not sure if it defied the law of physics.

Nathan Foley interview

* Game for the taking. Not acceptable we couldn't take it. We came to play and our attitude was alot better but we still should have won.

* On Jackson - strong with explosive pace out of the goalsquare which makes it hard to match up on him.

* On Rainesy - did 100% of the preseason and that hard work is paying off as he is playing very well out of a back pocket.

* Said he needs to work on his polish and impact. Said he only got a few kicks.

* Wallace's message - disappointed we couldn't get the result. Got to learn to win those games.

* Worked hard during the week and the effort in the Saints game should be the standard every week.

* Feels for Will.

They also replayed Wallace's after-match press conference.

Hope I didn't misquote him but interesting comments from Paddy. Obviously shares his love of the Tigers with his brother who IIRC gave a pretty passionate speech when he won his first B&F.
