We've played one third of the season so probably a good time to do a bit of a review of where we all see the Tiges are at:

1) What have you liked about the Tiges so far this year?

2) What haven't you liked / where do we still need to improve?

3) Individually, who has impressed and/or surprised you so far this year?

4) Who has been disappointing and/or has not come on as you had hoped/expected?

1) What have you liked about the Tiges so far this year?

Clearly the push from the young guys (Stack, Ross and Baker) who have established themselves with the opportunity presented.

2) What haven't you liked / where do we still need to improve?

Delivery inside 50 has been a major issue as has our inability to curb opposition chip / uncontested games

3) Individually, who has impressed and/or surprised you so far this year?

Stack
Kamdyn early but has gone off the ball in recent games

4) Who has been disappointing and/or has not come on as you had hoped/expected?

Higgins - numbers have been ok but doesnt have the same buzz in his game as last year

Dusty - Playing as a B grader at the moment

1) What have you liked about the Tiges so far this year?
Obviously the cubs and how we've been able to remain a top 8 side despite having virtually half our best 22 injured.

2) What haven't you liked / where do we still need to improve?
More injuries every bloody week!!!  :banghead
Losing the clearances most weeks and at times being too easy to score against if we don't bring our intense pressure game.
Before yesterday our ordinary goalkicking. Much better against Freo.

3) Individually, who has impressed and/or surprised you so far this year?

Aside from the cubs, it would be KMac. In top 5 B&F form.
Without Rance there, Grimes is finally getting the recognition he deserves as a top defender.

4) Who has been disappointing and/or has not come on as you had hoped/expected?

Higgins and Graham (even before the injury). Looked during the preseason and round 1 to be ready to step up significantly as mids but Higgo is just going while Graham is now injured.

1) What have you liked about the Tiges so far this year?

The whole team effort (ignoring the game against the Bulldogs) and from the "lesser" lights
Whilst the injuries are something we don't want it has 1) given the kids an opportunity and they have responded beyond expectations and 2) the second level players like Edwards Grimes Astbury and Vlastuin have had to stand up and this can only be a good thing when Rance Riewoldt and Cotchin come back.

The other thing I like is that we look like we have even more kids to call on who look to have the ability in the longer term - Naish, RCD, CCJ, Turner, The Egg

2) What haven't you liked / where do we still need to improve?

Obviously the injuries and the clearances need work.

3) Individually, who has impressed and/or surprised you so far this year?

This is not individually but I am most impressed by the recruitment and development departments. That we have so many kids ticking all the right boxes is not normal. The king pin here is McRae. Sign him up for a long term contract. He knows his stuff.

4) Who has been disappointing and/or has not come on as you had hoped/expected?

Before his injury it was Graham. He was just stagnating. Maybe McRae can refine him and sharpen his talents. In any case for a pick #53 we have already got a decent return from him.

Excellent. The development of our young players will pay off big time down the track.

RICHMOND

Surprise packet: Sydney Stack

The supplementary selection period has seen clubs pull off some draft steals, but none have been as dynamic as Sydney Stack. The talented youngster was touted as a top-20 draft selection last year, but off-field issues saw all 18 clubs steer clear. After the Tigers took a punt Stack has thrived both on and off the field, earning a Rising Star nomination as vindication against the Roos last Friday.

Disappointment: Daniel Rioli

Richmond dropped a selection bombshell last week when it dropped the premiership forward following a patch of poor form. Rioli has been somewhat disappointing after a fantastic career to date, booting just six goals in eight games this year. The young gun and is sure to return to the Tiger side sooner rather than later, as he has too much talent to be running around in the VFL.
