Footy legend Matthew “Richo” Richardson will be “on the couch live and loud” at Kalgoorlie’s Overland Motel later this month.

The former Tigers forward will have his brains picked by Kalgoorlie local and mad Richmond supporter Pete Jones in front of what is set to be a sell-out crowd.

Known for his speed, work rate and marking prowess, Richardson played 282 games with the Tigers before hanging up his boots in 2009.

He was a three-time All Australian and finished third in the 2008 Brownlow Medal count.

He also holds the record for the most goals kicked at the MCG (464).

Goldfields Football League’s Gary Fitzgerald said the evening would be a good insight into the “Tiger machine”.

“Pete has got some very good questions lined up for Richo in regards to his family, his junior history and everything all the way through to his senior career and obviously what he is going at Foxtel now,” he said.

“He (Richardson) has obviously been around the club back in the day when they weren’t that successful and has seen the success over the last three years so it will be great to get his take on that.”

Mr Fizgerald said Luke Hodge and Wayne Carey, who had visited the Goldfields in the past 12 months, had talked up Kalgoorlie to the Tiger star.

“They basically told him that he has to get to Kal, said they are great people up there,” he said.

“He is actually pumped to get up here.”

Kalgoorlie-Boulder is Richo’s only regional WA stop before appearing in Perth on February 22.

All funds from the night will be donated to the GFL to raise money for representative footy in 2020.
