Video: Sydney Stack wins epic international dance-off

It’s Thai-ger Time.

Richmond’s premiership stars have been living it up in Patong Beach — even claiming victories in their off-season.

Young gun Sydney Stack didn’t hold back in a dance-off in a Phuket nightclub overnight, winning plaudits from American rap stars along the way.

Stack, who has previously been lauded by his Tigers teammates for his ability to cut a rug, entered a dance competition at Illuzion nightclub overnight, a venue that boasts to be “the ultimate clubbing experience in Thailand”.

And the Tiger brought the house — packed with thousands of punters — down, strutting his stuff to American rapper Silento’s biggest hit, Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae) before high-fiving his stoked mates including Liam Baker, Shane Edwards, Nathan Broad and Patrick Naish from the stage.

Silento later congratulated the forward on his Instagram page.

“Kill it!!!,” the rapper wrote.

Stack had earlier been snapped on an adventurous tasting mission, eating a scorpion on a skewer to the disgust of retiring teammate Maverick Weller.

“It actually tastes like chicken,” he exclaimed, having also been to a shooting range to try his hand with a BB gun.

“This is living,” he posted from poolside with a cocktail at the Patong Beach Hotel.

Richmond forward Josh Caddy also documented the festivities via social media as the Tigers enjoyed a performance by multiple Grammy award winning rapper Nelly.

Some 40 Tigers have travelled to the beachside paradise for their end-of-season trip, with a smaller group also hitting Bali on the way back home to Melbourne.

Richmond captain Trent Cotchin is also enjoying Thailand but at a slightly slower pace with his family after — apparently inadvertently — booking on the same flight to Phuket as his crew of teammates.

Dustin Martin — whose car has been at the MCG since the Grand Final victory — has been in Las Vegas with close friend and former Collingwood star Dane Swan on what has become an annual jaunt for the pair and their mates.

Dusty’s unique wedding antics revealed

Scott Gullan
Herald Sun

We know Dustin Martin is his own man.

When you’ve got two Norm Smith Medals, a couple of premierships and a Brownlow Medal to your name you’ve probably earnt the right to roll your own way.

His Richmond teammates are well aware of this, but even they raised their eyebrows at his work at former teammate Sam Lloyd’s wedding.

The Western Bulldogs forward got married in his hometown of Deniliquin, a three-and-a-half hour drive from Melbourne.

Jack Riewoldt spilt the beans about Martin’s hit-and-run wedding antics on the Balls & Bumpers podcast, which he co-hosts with Supercars star Scott McLaughlin.

“He (Martin) organised a private driver and instead of staying the night in Deniliquin, we all stayed in the Big Four caravan park which was amazing, an absolutely fantastic place that is,” Riewoldt explained.

“He got a driver to drive him up and wait at the wedding.

“They picked Dylan Grimes up on the way at Mt Macedon and got to the wedding at 4.30pm.

“The dress code was cocktail, Dusty had a white shirt and jeans on but no one batted an eyelid.

“The the driver waited until 2am in the morning and then took him back to Melbourne.

“We tried to send the driver home at certain times but it didn’t work.”
