October 17, 2020 — 3.14pmHawthorn have poached Richmond assistant and former Brisbane Lions three-time premiership player Craig McRae for their 2021 coaching panel.
McRae has spent the past five years at Richmond and was coach of the club's VFL side for their 2019 premiership win.

McRae has also worked at Collingwood and Brisbane and was the 2019 AFLCA Assistant Coach of the Year.
Hawks football boss Graham Wright said McRae's coaching experience was impressive.

"We are rapt to have someone of Craig's experience join the fold and feel he can play a real role in helping us improve both on and off the field.
"Craig is not only a good coach, he is a great character and we are looking forward to having him join the Hawthorn family."
The Tigers have lost Justin Leppitsch from their assistant coaching ranks this year.
