--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

* Sides evolve and Geelong have done that adding Jeremy Cameron. It provides a different set of circumstances but we're confident our defence mix will be able to curtail that if we play our very best. Defence relies on pressure upfield to provide a level of consistency that the ball comes in 'dirty'. If you allow clean ball then it's hard to defend no matter who are in your back six.

* The rest of the squad will train this weekend. With a number of young players at the lower level, having the bye in the VFL is handy.

* We understand how Geelong play and they understand how we play. It's whichever system is strongest for longest, that will actually get the result. How they control the game by feet isn't going to be foreign to us. It's up to us to apply the pressure to prevent them playing the way they want to play. Both sides are vastly different to last time but we hope to get the same result.

* Baker and Short epitomise what Richmond is all about. Blokes who come in with little fuss yet are very important to us on-field and off.

* Cotchin - it will be a 3-5 week lay-off. Our medical guys are very good. We have a fair understanding why it's happening but getting out of that mechanism is tough. Cotch plays at such high intensity, the game is now longer and rotations are less, so he's being put in a more fatigue state. He's not going to slow done, so we've got to continue to work through these challenges.
