Going by Dimma's presser we aren't playing the kids. He still wants to go for 8th spot even though he admits we're fatigued.

Miller didn't play on the weekend in the VFL due to that groin injury so he's not going to be picked for the seniors.

In: Floss, Broad, Kmac, M.Rioli

Out: Aarts, Castagna, Ross, one of Garth/Astbury.

Cumberland has surprised in the last two games and couldn't be worse than George or Aarts at the moment.

Honestly if they pick both Aarts and Castagna I won't be watching. My preference is neither but if I had to pick one I would take Castagna. They are both out of form. Aarts horribly out of form...

Aarts isn't out of form, he's out of his depth... :shh

[The Tigers] are set to be boosted by the return of premiership defender Nick Vlastuin (knee, quad) against North Melbourne on Saturday.

“We are confident that he will get up,” Balme said.

In the Mix - Round 21:

RICHMOND

Important defender Nathan Broad (syndesmosis) didn't quite get up in time for last week, while Nick Vlastuin (knee/quad cork), Kamdyn McIntosh (hamstring) and Bachar Houli (ankle) are all close to a return. Josh Caddy has now been the sub for two weeks, while Noah Cumberland and Hugo Ralphsmith kicked three each in the VFL. Jake Aarts (six disposals) has kicked three goals in his past nine matches, while Ryan Garthwaite looms as the first defensive option out of the side.

Verdict: Broad and Ralphsmith for Garthwaite and Aarts.

Team Tips:

Nick Vlastuin (quad/knee), Nathan Broad (ankle), Marlion Pickett (managed) and Kamdyn McIntosh (hamstring) could all return this week to give Richmond a much-needed boost, particularly down back. Meanwhile, Hugo Ralphsmith, Samson Ryan, Will Martyn, Riley Collier-Dawkins and the untried Noah Cumberland all impressed during the Tigers’ 16-point win over Frankston in the VFL on the weekend, so the selectors will have plenty to think about following the senior team’s disappointing four-point loss to Fremantle in Perth on the weekend.

Vlastuin wasn't on the training track this morning but is set to return.

McIntosh will have to pass a fitness test to be cleared.

Hardwick suggested Richmond may turn to youth for their must-win match with the possibility of multiple changes in the Tigers’ line-up.

“Personnel-wise we might look at some changes … we’ll have a look at some players that played well at VFL level, hopefully they can make the jump up,” Hardwick said.

“The positive for us is that we have some players that we really would like to expose at AFL level, so they might get an opportunity this week or the upcoming weeks.”

One player who is a chance to debut is Maurice Rioli jnr, cousin of Daniel, with the 19-year-old impressing at VFL level.

“He (Rioli) will certainly be in the squad this week. He just brings a chaos mentality up forward,” Hardwick said.

Good to see the change, would have given Cumberland a crack instead but time to see if some of the kids are worth keeping
