2022 reflections

Regarding the last paragraph there, it's an indictment on the club that Aarts has played 42 games in the last 3 years and RCD has played just 11.

I know we like to reward VFL form but at the AFL level it's hard to argue that Aarts was worthy of selection more than RCD IMO.

I wonder if there's something about the RCD situation that has made the club just write him off completely - whether it's an attitude issue or he's fallen out with Dimma etc. Just doesn't make a lot of sense.

Matthew Lloyd's review of our season on Footy Classified:

Pros:

- Introduced a fair few kids (Sonsie, Cumberland, Gibcus & Maurice). Especially Sonsie who looks like he is going to be something special.

- Lynch's form this year after finally having a full preseason.

Cons:

- Too many soft tissue injuries:
   Balta (hamstring - multiple)
   Prestia (hamstring and calf)
   Grimes (hamstring) who missed the finals.
   Lynch (hamstring)
   Pickett
   McIntosh

  Ross Lyon blamed aging bodies for the injuries. He added Richmond veterans have virtually played an extra season with all the finals and premierships they played in.

- Not clamping down on Lachie Neale. Not talking about a tag but especially at centre clearances you don't allow him to be standing on his own with no one tied to him.
