Blair was on Trade Radio just after midday:
* We were into both Hopper and Taranto for a year or two.
* We wanted to get to a point where it was mutually beneficial for both parties. Jason [McCartney] and I sat down about a month ago and we just thrashed it out. I have to give credit to him and the Giants for their professionalism. Always confident of it getting done.
* Seven-year deals aren't looked at lightly. There's a calculated risk.
* Soldo knocked back a strong deal to go to the Bulldogs after his ACL, which is why we spoke with him about a move. GWS's cap space meant they were not in a position to take him.
* Asked about using 5 picks in last year's draft?
Keen to go hard in the draft last year. We wanted to be in a consistent position to contend. Draft talent and trade for need.
* It isn't easy to come out with these strategies. Sometimes they go well and other times they don't. You can't rely on draft, free agency or trades. You have to do it all.
* Asked about this year's draft?
We have a terrific team - Matty Clark and his support staff. We were clear throughout the year that we would be low in the draft period. Really excited about the back end of the draft.
* Asked about RCD and Stack?
It's the hardest part of what we do. Things were put on hold until after the trade period to see where our list stood. Make decisions over the next couple of days as to whether they'll be offered new deals.
