Might be something to do with how many dangerous tackle free kicks there are and players being rubbed out for it. AFL is encouraging players not to pin the arms and instead give players gentle hugs around the waist.

Maybe but you can still pin arms without smashing blokes into the ground. You can still arms when blokes are standing up in tackles

If you no longer have the hunger then there’s no need to hunt (tackle)…. Just a suggestion my footy mates and I have had for quite some time now.

It is largely technique. I think generally our preparation has fallen away dramatically vs other clubs which is why things like missed tackles are exposing us
