A little sensationalism going on by Lewis not naming the players involved.

It’s sounds like he’s saying players who are current leaders at Richmond wanted to go to Hawthorn.
But when you remember who did actually leave at the end of 2016 and why, then it makes sense in context.

It was clearly Delidio who couldn’t get out quick enough with Geelong a real option. Ending up at GWS.
“Deledio wants to leave Richmond for the Cats and likewise, Tuohy said on Monday that he hopes to leave Carlton for Geelong.”
