Tommy says he could still coach now
« on: June 25, 2006, 03:04:49 AM »
From the Herald-Sun:

Hafey, who turns 75 in August, scoffed at suggestions that Kevin Sheedy and Denis Pagan, both in their late 50s, were too old to coach at the elite level.

Hafey is convinced he could coach in today's game.

``I'd do it in a breeze,'' he said. ``Rupert Murdoch, 75 years of age, is still as sharp as ever.

``I think that's the greatest load of rubbish of all time. Age has got nothing to do with it. There are 51 players playing AFL football at the moment over 30 years of age. It's supposed to be a young man's game.''
