McCarthy has one game for the worst team in the comp so way too early. Davidson is a miss for sure

You can add D'Ambrosio and Mannagh to that list.
The club that keeps giving.

Archie May got a game for Dons also.

I wanted us to grab him off our own list 2-3 years ago looked great in the VFL.  A real hit-up forward.

Based on the only sample we have so far it's a miss.
31 touches at 93% DE in the worst team in the league on debut is a great start.

Meh Davidson is massively overrated and had we had a pick in the PSD this year I would've preferred Raso anyway , either way we would've missed out on McCarthy as WC had the first pick and never mind that he was on no-one's radar until this year's MSD after he went from averaging 17 possessions last year to 23 possessions this year  - before that he was overlooked by everyone last off-season across the National, Rookie & Pre- Season drafts as well as the SSP. :shh

You never know when a player is going to take that next step and break out away from the pack, but we've kept some dead wood and other clubs have raided our VFL development options.

McCarthy or Ross
Davidson or Dow
D'Ambrosio or MRJ
May or Kossie

On this year's form or potential upside I'd rather have all the other guys tbh.

An actual witches hat would be better than Dow, May was ok when he was with us but hardly a stand out then left the club of his own accord and looked better in a weaker league, also can't recall any of the hindsight heroes on here mentioning McCarthy last year and as for D'Ambrosio, just like WC with McCarthy, Bumblers had the pick before us, same goes for Durham.  :shh :shh

MSD's can negotiate their contracts. Most accept 18m contracts to get AFL gigs, but some have negotiated longer ones.

As the AFL club overseeing the VFL team you'd think we get a good look at these kids well before other clubs have a chance to decide they want to take them. Draft them first, the year before, or start talking to them about contract options that give us a better/later chance in the MSD before other clubs get a look in.

We should be in the box seat either way.

Thought you'd have been able to work that out? You'd make a shocking list manager otherwise.

Pretty sure the pick we used as Alger would’ve been used on Davidson had the Doggies not swooped. So let’s see. Personally don’t know why we aren’t trying to pick up players like Matthew Kennedy - if we want mature bodies let’s use our cap space on proven talent that wants more opportunities
"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

We missed on Durham, the rest aren’t big deals.

All these guys being listed would probably be getting ripped apart in the match day threads if they played for us. Suggest some are just looking at their stat sheet and thinking we keep missing out.

Not to mention the fact we don’t have any list spots.

In any case, the fact our vfl listed players have such a high return in getting picked up by afl clubs is a good thing. Would work handy in continuing to draw in the most talented state league players.
