I hate it when they just base it on overall lists.
Just a bit of trivia for want of a better word.
Last year we played with an average of 11.13 players with less than 50 games. The most was 14 players and the least 9.
The average games played for each team fielded was 1976.73 games averaging 85.94 games per player.
The youngest team we fielded was 23yrs 238 days. with 1451 games with just 63 games average.
The oldest team we fielded was 26yrs 30 days. with 2465 games with 107 games average.
The average age for the 23 games was too hard to work out but id guess was somewhere around 24 or 25 yrs give or take.
We were older than the opposition in just 7 games and i reckon games played would be similar.
Interesting though was the games we won apart from the carlton round 2 game the age and games played for each team was similar.
We copped our fair share of poor defeats with some of our most experienced sides although some of the loaded sides with under 50 gamers was the same.
I sort of look at the chasm between the vets and the juniors both have plenty of talent but the middle tier continue to be a problem.
Next year i think our age and games played stats will go backwards with more of the juniors surpassing the middle tier and some of the vets falling even more off the pace.
Any way make of it what you will but overall list stats are not indicative of game day.
