Where are we at now at the 2/3 season mark?
« on: July 15, 2006, 04:53:48 AM »
Two-thirds of the season is gone and every side has played each once. The Tigers will be 8th or 9th depending on how Freo goes.

Where do you guys think we are at now compared to the elite, middle and bottom clubs?

Will we regroup after last night or will we, as Dermie asked Miller last night after the game, fall away again?

I don't think we will fall away again, we are a different team to the previous years, we have broken many hoodoo's this season and I think we can break this one.
Our remaining games:
Vs Sydney (SCG) - Good side, but I believe they are dropping off a bit, we managed to beat them at home under Spud, just imagine what Terry has up his sleeve ;)
Vs St.Kilda (MCG) - I don't believe they are as good of a side as everyone thinks they are, we came close to beating them in Round 2, and since the start of the year I think we have improved
Vs Western Bulldogs (MCG) - I think that all their injuries have caught up to them and they will be the ones to fall away.
Vs Brisbane (TD) - I don't know why this game is at the Telstra Dome since it's our home game, but anyway. Brisbane aren't the powerhouse they used to be with all their aging stars. We beat them quite comfortably at the GABBA. I believe it's a winnable game, but I'd have more faith if it was at the MCG
Vs Carlton (TD) - No brainer, Carlton are s**thouse this year, although they did come close to beating West Coast, I believe we are a far better side than them
Vs Essendon (MCG) - Read above. Though we only barely beat them last time, their losing streak would have made them drop their confidence.
Vs West Coast (MCG) - They don't play that well at the MCG. But I think it will be up to our spots on the ladder and who wants/needs the win the most.

I can pick 4 winnable games there, and hopefully in 1 were we are classed as underdogs, we can come out and win. Our youngsters are on the rise and hopefully in a couple of years we can be serious finals contenders :thumbsup
But knowing my luck, this post is gonna come back and bite me in the butt.

We have a good record at the SCG and Wallace said we learnt there are more than one way to play modern footy from the shallacking we copped at the Dome from the Swans. Let's hope Terry does has something special up his sleeve for the SCG.

Vs St.Kilda (MCG) - I don't believe they are as good of a side as everyone thinks they are, we came close to beating them in Round 2, and since the start of the year I think we have improved

As much as it would be good to see Kosi return to footy I hope it isn't against us.

Vs Western Bulldogs (MCG) - I think that all their injuries have caught up to them and they will be the ones to fall away.

The Dogs just got over Carlton and lost Montgomery to injury. 50/50 at the G.

Vs Brisbane (TD) - I don't know why this game is at the Telstra Dome since it's our home game, but anyway. Brisbane aren't the powerhouse they used to be with all their aging stars. No gimmes in that last 4 although all winnable. The Blues might be crap but we struggle at the Dome and they pushed the Dogs for 3 quarters today. We need to win at least one of 3 before these last 4 games or it's all over anyway.
