Sydney game / Anyone Going To Sydney???
« on: June 26, 2006, 10:40:01 AM »
Who is coming up (or down) to Sydney for the Swannies game.

Rodney Harris from the supporters group tells me that there is a pre-match at the Arena Bar and Bistro at Fox Studios starting at 3pm, however there is only room for 100 and they are giving preference to local supporters.

There is a post match get together at the Bradman Terrace inside the ground.  :gotigers

For those off to Sydney to see the game live the trains around Sydney will be affected by trackwork.

It's also according the Swans forum meant to be raining Saturday night at the SCG.

-------------------

Important transport information

sydneyswans.com.au

CityRail will be undertaking major trackwork in the CBD this weekend affecting most train services to the city and around the network, impacting on those utilising the rail network to attend the Swans game against Richmond on Saturday night.

The Sydney Swans encourage everyone to allow extra time to plan their journey ahead of traveling given buses will replace some train services between city stations.

For further information on the impact on every line click here

For trackwork information click here

Other CityRail services will operate to a weekend timetable for this event. For timetable information click here

Sydney Buses

Sydney Buses will run express shuttle services to Moore Park from:

* Route 1 Eddy Ave, Central Railway (from the rear of Stand D) approximately every 5-10 minutes from 3.00pm until kick off.

Please note that due to trackwork in the CBD, shuttle services will be departing from Eddy Ave (not Chalmers St).

Special Car Park ‘Park & Ride’ Shuttle Services will operate regularly from 5.00m until 7.15pm:

* Route 50 Goulburn Street Car Park
* Route 60 Randwick Racecourse

Return services will operate for approximately one hour after the event:

* Route 1 to Central: Stand A, Bays 1-3 from 9.15pm – 11pm
* Route 3 to Circular Quay: Stand B, Bay 5 from 9.15pm – 11pm
* Route 50 to Goulburn St Carpark: Stand B, Bay 7 from 9.20pm – 11.40pm
* Route 60 to Randwick Racecourse: Stand C, Bay 8 from 9.20pm – 11.40pm

Return shuttle buses cost $5.00 Adult, $2.50 Concession and $12.50 for a family.

Please note that Pensioner Tickets are not valid on Moore Park special services. Pensioner Excursion, TravelTen and TravelPass ticket holders are advised to use regular Sydney Buses services from Eddy Ave, Stand C at Central Station and from Stands D & E at Circular Quay.

Regular Sydney Buses also operate via Moore Park from Sydney CBD and the Eastern suburbs to a Saturday timetable.

Herald-Sun preview
20 July 2006   Herald-Sun
Robert Grant (AAP)

SYDNEY v RICHMOND SCG 7.10pm

Head to head: Richmond 100 Sydney 75 Drawn 1

Last time: Sydney 28.12 (180) bt Richmond 9.8 (62) R7 2006 Telstra Dome

TAB Sportsbet: Sydney $1.30 Richmond $3.30
Centrebet: Sydney $1.30 Richmond $3.50

Sydney is another club battling an off-field ruckus - this time it's Nick Davis falling out with coach Paul Roos and prompting criticism from his teammates. The Swans are losing touch with the top four while Richmond is eyeing a berth in the lower reaches of the eight. The Swans were shaky against West Coast, surrendering a five-goal half-time lead to lose by two points at Subiaco and will be desperate not to slip up back on home turf. Richmond has proved it has the ability to create an upset, especially if Matthew Richardson is on-song up forward and Troy Simmonds continues his career-best form in the ruck.

Key: The loss through suspension of Joel Bowden will make it much harder for Richmond to cover the Swans' multi-faceted attack including Barry Hall, Michael O'Loughlin, Ryan O'Keefe and Adam Goodes.

Tip: Sydney by 20 points

As far as the "experts" go, another week another game where we are classed as overwhelming underdogs:

The Age:    2-15   ( Caro tipped us )
Herald-Sun:  0-18
