Mitsubishi $60M NRL sponsorship
« on: August 11, 2006, 06:45:58 AM »
MITSUBISHI Motors yesterday confirmed interest in outlaying $60 million to become the NRL's new naming rights sponsor as car manufacturers battle to win over Australia's elite winter sports.

The NRL could be known as the Mitsubishi Cup for the next six years and run in direct competition with the Toyota AFL premiership.

Anyone have a problem with a company that only a couple of years ago our taxes went in to keep them afloat.
A bit rich if this is the way they're spending our money I reckon.

Unless of course, they want to sponsor the Tiges lol

IIRC Toyota get/got "incentives" from the Vic State government so they kept their production in Victoria and then they throw millions at the AFL.

Same principle different comps :thumbsup

The feds threw money at them to keep them afloat.  I'd suggest Mitsubishi build a couple of good cars rather than sponsoring the NRL, and then they wouldn't have to go cap in hand.

Anyway, just my opinion.

I was walking down street yesterday...there was this brand spanking new Chrysler that looked pooh hot. 4 door sedan that looked like a Bentley from the front. Tiges should do a deal with Daimler Chrysler and supporters can get 10% discount of a car lol.
