RFC Fitness & Other stuff

Our fitness levels and the way our players present themselves onto the field of battle is 3 grades below what we saw today between Sydney & WCE. We are a rabble! Truth is I really dont see any of our players busting a gut until there hurting bad at the end of games, I may be wrong, but Sydney & West Coast players capacity to show courage in terms driving themselves into the ground is unmatched. As I said before, today the grand final showed how far behind we are in alot of stuff, its not only the cattle, its the vision, the courage, the want to succeed and hurt to get there. We are a long way away and at the very least, the thing Id like to see happen over this preseason is for the plough to flog the players to point where they understand that unless there spewing there guts out at the end of the game then they havent given enough for the cause!

Another reason why Plough was given a 5-year deal. Remember when he first walked into the door at Punt Rd he said our guys had "tennis player" legs. With such a young list it would take more than just 2 preseasons to get our boys fitness and physical development up with that of the more mature bodies of the Swans and Eagles. The Eagles for instance have taken 6 years to get where they are now. Our 100 point losses had a lot to do with our lack of gut running. We simply were outmuscled at the contests and run off our legs all over the ground.

How ironic that the one roid head caught happened to be from our club. We are probably the weakest team going around and have been for a generation.
