Howat working hard to step up

Cam Howat is one young Tiger who has pounced on the chance to prove to Terry Wallace that he is ready to play regular senior football in 2007.
Wallace’s pre-season incentive program is paying big dividends, with Howat among several young players jostling to take advantage of a system that rewards the top 15 ranked players with automatic selection in the Club’s opening NAB cup game against Geelong in two weeks’ time.
“I’m quite a fan of the points system; it puts a lot of pressure on. It’s pretty good the things we get marked on – boxing, swimming, running. It really makes you train 100 per cent of the time and I think that’s good for the Richmond Footy Club,” Howat told richmondfc.com.au.
