Richmond held on to defeat Fremantle by four points at Princes Park, winning 10.11 (71) to 10.7 (67).

The Tigers led by 13 points at half time, but failed to score a goal in the third term as the Dockers surged to a 23-point three-quarter time lead.

Amazingly, the last quarter was a mirror-image of the third with Richmond booting 4.3 to no score and collecting the premiership points.

Tiger’s midfielder Wayne Campbell was outstanding with 34 possessions, while Nick Daffy, Matthew Richardson and Joel Bowden each booted two goals.

For Fremantle, Quenton Leach, Clive Waterhouse and Daniel Parker nabbed two goals apiece with Dale Kickett and Greg Harding playing well in defence.
