Injuries - Simmo, Tambo and Schulz
« on: May 06, 2007, 11:03:39 PM »
Just to top off a disasterous night at Injury Dome  ::)...

Schulz - corked thigh. Tried to run it out but couldn't.

Tambling - AC joint. Strapped it up and went back on. Struggled, went off and on again then got another knock and was then really sore  ::). Miss a week.

Simmo - reinjured same ankle that he broke. Concern about mid to long term future.

Why would you risk injurying Tambo's shoulder further by putting him back on when we were already 10 to 15 goals down?!  ::)

And it's going to great watching Brogan and Lade feed the Burgoynes, Corners, Pearce and co next week while we rob Peter to pay Paul with Polak and Richo doing the ruck :-X

Simmo and Tambo to have scans today
Injury update to Tuesday, May 8, 2007:

On the injury front, the Tigers are awaiting the result of scans today to decide the immediate future of ruckman Simmonds and midfielder Richard Tambling.

Simmonds aggravated the ankle he broke during the pre-season, while Tambling had his arm in a sling yesterday after a knock to the shoulder against Geelong.

Full-forward Jay Schulz is also in doubt for Saturday's clash with Port Adelaide at AAMI Stadium after suffering a severely corked thigh.

"With the six-day break, I think it's fair to say all three are in some doubt," Richmond football manager Paul Armstrong said.

Any more definite news on Simmo and Tambo? All we know is they will miss this week at least.

Schultz does seem to get lots of injuries.  Is it incorrect warming up?  I don't know much about corked thighs but I would have thought you'd get over it fairly quickly unless you've really strained your quads.

Miller stressed that Simmonds did not have a debilitating ankle problem and said he was hopeful the ruckman would resume in two or three weeks.

"He probably came back a bit too early after surgery and he's been pretty sore for a couple of weeks," Miller said. "He's not going to be out long term.

"Trent's got a degenerative ankle problem and it's a bit of a question mark as to when he will play again."

We are our worst enemy sometimes. You would've thought we would've learnt not to rush players back from injury by now  :help  :scream.
