Tiger hunt on Brown

RICHMOND is expected to adopt a two-pronged defensive game to combat Brisbane power forward Jonathan Brown in Saturday night’s round 10 match at Telstra Dome.

Joel Bowden and Graham Polak are expected to be given first crack at the key-position player. However, Richmond assistant coach David King has not ruled out the possibility of playing hero Matthew Richardson down back.

“He is a marvellous competitor,” King said of Brown.

“He is the leading goal-assist player in the competition so it just shows you the type of impact he has had in the competition.

“He has been able to take most players to the cleaners so I am sure he will get a couple of opponents through the night.

King said the Tigers would prefer Richardson to remain up forward where they had options to rotate him with Kent Kingsley and Daniel Jackson.

“He is our main strike forward so I hope he won’t be spending too much time down back because if he is it is fair to say we are probably in trouble,” King said on Friday.
