Sunday will also be the 100th senior game for Chris Newman, another Tiger to have played every match this season.

Newman is still playing with a metal rod in his leg following the season-ending broken bone he suffered last year in round 14.

"I didn't think I'd be in this sort of shape at this time of the season and I actually thought it might be the opposite, I thought it might get (more sore) as the year went on," the defender said.

"But it's actually easing up and feeling a lot better, I'm very grateful for that.

"In terms of broken legs, I couldn't have wished for a better break."

Chris Newman will play his 100th game on Sunday after successfully returning from a double break in his left leg received in round 13 last season.

The 25-year-old defender is playing with a metal rod in his leg and said he had suffered no further complications since returning in round one this year.

"I didn't think I'd be in this sort of shape at this time of the season," Newman said. "I never dreamed of playing 100 games in the AFL as a youngster, so to play 100 games and play for the Richmond Football Club is a huge honour for me.

"Coming back from a broken leg and feeling as good as it is now, it's something pretty special … hopefully, we can finish off with a win."

Newy is still deciding whether to take the rod out at the end of the year

The Tigers defender may undergo an operation at the end of the year to have the rod currently in his leg taken out.

“I think I get the option at the end of the year to take it out. At the moment I probably say that I will but I can’t really feel it… Nathan’s told me by taking the rod out he’s felt a lot freer but we’ll assess it at the end of the year.”
