It will be interesting to see if Hawthorn can follow up their good 2007 with an equally good or better 2008. I think they will. Even though the may have got a bit ahead of themselves topping up with Dew. Similar to the mistake we made in 2001. I don't think that their confidence is misplaced though, I reckon they have a better list than we did back then.

Come on we all know that we will stuff up on somebody, and Dean Putt has been very very overrated could barely get a game for calder in 2006 and for someone his size should have done much much much better at TAC cup level.

The pressure really is on Hawthorn this year. They have to back up their recent good form and prove they are not one season wonders. Difficult for such a young team but they have the talent to do it.

Morton could be a star but I think we made the right choice with Cotchin. Morton may end up playing like Goodes across the centre of the ground exploiting opponents with his height, run and skills. I'm expecting Melbourne to be very pleased in the future with this yound recruit.

Putt could be an incredible power forward for us in the future. He will take time to develop but is already a great size. The fact that the Dons were so openly disappointed when we took him ahead of them gives me some real confidence that we grabbed him just in time. Players of his size, run and skills are rare but only time will tell.

Grant could be a star for the dogs but really I am only guessing.

Young players always look much better when they have more older stars around them to take the pressure off. Poor Lids has had to endure tags for years where in a team filled with more capable senior players these tags would have gone to them. Have a look at the effect that Stevens being injured had on Murphy. Murphy went from being a heralded star to an disappointing player all because he suddenly had to take the tag that Nick would have otherwise have taken.

We have great young players now but they are having to take on far more responiblilty in our team than they would have to take at almost any of the other clubs. whenLids and Foley are 100 - 150 game players you watch to see how good our recruits seem then without the same pressure applied.

Im pleased enough with who we drafted (at his stage like all 16 clubs fans are) its who we didn't draft in Selwood because of a trade for a player we didn't need in McMahon that im most concerned about.
Drink,Drugs and Shagging models.
The rest l just wasted.
