Tiger fan of the century

THE Beattie family of Woodend has issued the challenge.
Is there a family, or supporter, with more of Richmond's yellow and black in them?
If there is, the club wants to hear from you as it searches for the Tiger fan or family of the century.
Brett Beattie, 43, says there is no shame in being obsessed with Richmond.
And he gets no argument from his one-time Collingwood supporter wife Carmel and children Beau, 19, Brayden, 17, and Madelyn, 15.
"There is nothing else. That's what we've got and that's what we do - and that's my club and that's it.'' Brett said.
"I can remember shaking the tins for Save our Skins because it's my club and I was brought up that way and so were the kids.
"When they were young, we'd take them into the members and we used to put the plastic and umbrellas over the prams. We had 2800 members then. We'd sit and cuddle them.''
Asked if his children had been given any choice Brett said: "It's a free country and if they barrack for Collingwood they live on the streets.''
The Tiger-mad Beattie family are all cheer squad members and have a bigger assortment of floggers and banners than you'd find at an AFL store.
And they are doing their bit to spread the Tiger word around their world.
Even Mickey Mouse has met the family, complete in Tiger gear, on a visit to Disneyland a few years ago.
"We take all of our Richmond gear with us when we go on holidays,'' Brett said.
Brett has two old Holden cars he is painting in Richmond colours, including a HZ Statesman which will have No.17 on the bonnet and roof, plus a list of all club captains painted on the boot.
Competition entrants must write in 25 words or less why they believe they are Richmond's fan/family of the century.
First prize is a $2000 Dick Smith Electronics voucher with a $1000 voucher the second prize.
Entries close on Friday, June 13 and the winner will be announced at the club's family day at Punt Rd on Saturday, June 28, which is a prelude to the clash with Carlton at the MCG that day.
