Royal on SEN - the Huddle @ 1pm
« on: June 25, 2008, 02:50:48 PM »
Here's a summary of what I remember

* Planning for Judd to play. He's seen Judd's collision with Lloyd and it obviously affected him over the rest of the game. Have plan A, B and C ready as you always do. As midfield coach you do a lot preparation on the opposition - watch videos etc (eg: see how Andrew Welsh played on Judd last week). Chocco wouldn't say who would have the job on Judd. Sugar tagged Judd in round 1.

* 1000 people going to the Friday night gala. Still tickets available.

* We'll have ex-players around the place all week and in the rooms before the game. The great thing about Richmond is you have all these ex-champions of the club around.

* He's not going to talk finals in regards to us. We first need to first beat top 8 sides to be genuine finals contenders. If things go the way over the next month the way we think it can then we hope to be in the Eight.

* We have a list management meeting next week. Cousins will of course come up. We'd be negligent to just rule it out and not discuss it. Two things to consider - Does he take up the spot of one of our up and coming mids (con) or does he come in and teach our midfielders as a premiership winning brownlow medalist (pro). Can Cousins make Cotchin a better player say? No doubt about that but we've got to way that up with where we are at. Would Royal take him? Tough one. Wouldn't want to make a comment. Mark Doran said reading between the lines that's a no.

* Of the contenders - Geelong is the one that is even over the park. The others have a deficiency - Hawks (backline), Dogs (consistency has been an issue in the recent times but so far so good), Swans (just doesn't think they'll win the flag but they have surprised him this year and he admires them). Hawks - Not sure if oppositions are working out their zone. Injuries are killing them at the moment.
