Simmo on 3aw @ 6.25pm

Simmo just on 3aw at 6.25pm

* Yeah he's feeling very tired after the Perth trip. Got home around 3.30-4.00am. Took a while to get to sleep with all the adrenilin. Woke up at 11am. A dip in Port Phillip Bay. The trip does takes a bit out of you.

* They all filed behind each other into the Bay. He was behind Tambo. With the number of attacks and all (laughs).

* First 7 weeks up to the state game was good. Injury to the PCL in the state game so had to carry that through and couldn't jump as much which affected him game as a small ruckman. So definitely needed the week off. Good on the weekend.

* Sugar's been great playing HF as he did on the weekend and coming into the midfield. Amazed at Cotch and Foley on the weekend smashing them in the centre. Cotch's strength is unbelievable. Bucks said Cotch's workrate is phenomenal especially off the back of no preseason. He was giving Kerr the run around. Simmo said he can see him as a future captain of the club.

* Always had a passion for athletics. Had a specialised trainer since his days at Freo. Trying to keep improving his speed as a big guy and use that to his advantage. Good for the mind too to get away and work with other professionals.

* Bombers have had a great month especially in the midfield so should be a good battle.

Simmo was chosen as Victoria's number one ruckman for a reason. Up until the State of Origin game he was the best ruckman, alone with the Dream Teams ruckman - Cox, in the league. Unfortunately since that game he has been unable to run and ruck out games due to his injury. As he stated in the interview as a smallish ruckman you need to jump to contend and Simmo does his best work around the ground becasue of his mobility.

I think the rest would have done him a world of good. I'm just worried about the short break coupled with the Interstate trip and its effect on our players. If the game is a competeion of pace and fitness we may run out of legs if this short Interstate break proves a factor....:(

Love to hear about Cotch.  :bow  His legend is already starting to grow..... :wub
