The original was based on Tottenham not having beat Ar_senal for something like 10 years. This is still funny because it's true - "Gill, he couldn't hit a barn door"

Actually the original one was made when Sheffield United were relegated on the last day of the Premier League Season, despite starting the day 5th last.
