The Richmond Presidency
« on: September 01, 2008, 04:16:07 PM »
There's no doubt that some issues that our club has been dealing with in recent times have been handled very badly, namely, Millergate, the loose cannon Tony Free and the 5 out of 10 fiasco. There are no adequate excuses for the utter incompetency for the way these issues have unfolded in the public domain.

A hard one to judge from afar. You'd want someone who puts the club first before their own ego and as president provides stability and oversees and steers the club along a well-planned long-term direction. The president should also have some media nouse so they can read journo questions that are set up to trap their victim. You don't want someone who is a puppet to minority groups within the club who think they know everything when in fact they are clueless. Nor do you want someone who interfers and hinders those in employed positions within the club and who forgets our core business is football and that the team's best interests come first.

If March did go then realistically someone else on the current board would take over as president (but not Freezer). You'd need a board challenge otherwise. We don't have a high public profile and/or $$$ types like a Pratt or Eddie on the outside who have supporters falling over themselves to make them president.
