Tiger makes late play for top gig

RICHMOND'S exhaustive hunt for a football chief could yet end down the corridor and be filled internally, with Craig Cameron emerging as a contender.

It's understood Cameron, the Tigers' list manager and head of recruiting, will be interviewed this week for the role.

Final interviews with three remaining candidates are understood to be taking place over the weekend, but Cameron has emerged at the 11th hour.

President Gary March confirmed Cameron would be considered if he wanted the role.

Already at least four influential figures have either rejected approaches or withdrawn from the process -- including Hawthorn's Chris Pelchen, player agent Dan Richardson, Athletics Australia boss Danny Corcoran and AFL Victoria chief executive Peter Schwab.

But March said he was delighted with the quality of the candidates remaining.

"We have a specific need and job brief, and we've been happy to wait until we get the absolute best person," he said.

"A couple of people we have yet to interview but we hope to have a decision this week."

I' really getting sick of Huthcy as he sit there with his childish look and talking with a slight lisp. Acts all innocent when really pressured but never comes clean. I see a future politition here. Which is good cause I'll never vote for the mongrel.

So does that mean if Cameron gets it we'll have to get a new list manager cum recruiter?
Wasn't that one of the things Greg was criticised for, wearing too many hats?  ::)

If that is so you make a very good point.

We've got conflicting reports depending on who is talking. Going by the media the whole process has turned into a farce as everyone we actually wanted has turned us down and now we're doing the same thing with the footy manager position as Essendon and Carlton did last year with their coaching appointments. Sacked the old guy midseason using the excuse that we needed to do it early to get the best person only then to end up with the bloke in the office down the corridor. Conversely, whispers, nods and winks out of the club have everything under control, Hutchy is changing his story from week to week, and that a Pelchen isn't out of it. I guess we'll find out the truth Wednesday night.

Who would be the three names Hutchy is talking about btw? Harrington from North, Robert Shaw and ?

You'd presume so.
