RICHMOND'S exhaustive hunt for a football chief could yet end down the corridor and be filled internally, with Craig Cameron emerging as a contender.
It's understood Cameron, the Tigers' list manager and head of recruiting, will be interviewed this week for the role.
Final interviews with three remaining candidates are understood to be taking place over the weekend, but Cameron has emerged at the 11th hour.
President Gary March confirmed Cameron would be considered if he wanted the role.
Already at least four influential figures have either rejected approaches or withdrawn from the process -- including Hawthorn's Chris Pelchen, player agent Dan Richardson, Athletics Australia boss Danny Corcoran and AFL Victoria chief executive Peter Schwab.
But March said he was delighted with the quality of the candidates remaining.
"We have a specific need and job brief, and we've been happy to wait until we get the absolute best person," he said.
"A couple of people we have yet to interview but we hope to have a decision this week."
