To make the finals, who will we need to bypass?
« on: November 19, 2008, 04:19:42 AM »
Seems Mark Stevens in the Herald-Sun thinks us and Carlton will bypass Saints.

Quote
If future success is judged by who has the most kids stockpiled, St Kilda are still well off the pace.

St Kilda won a final, yes, but was exposed by Geelong and Hawthorn in September. Carlton will improve. Richmond, too, has far more youth pushing through.

Hopefully the bloody Swans too, surely their lack of quality youth recruiting has to dip them out of the top 8 soon

Did we finish 9th and the 3rd best performed team of the last 11 games, or was it Carlton?

Every minute of the day I hate Carlton more and more.

I have no doubt they will be pushing for the 8, especially if Judd is near 100%, but the hype is unbelievable.

That's all right Wayne, we will get our time in the spotlight as well.

Probably after we drop a couple games on the trot next year and the media smell a bit of blood

I think Collingwood, Brisbane and Adelaide will all drop out next year.

Brisbane finished behind us.

I don't rate St. Kilda, Collingwood, Adelaide and Sydney.

Agree Chuck.... really the only thing that has saved them previously IMHO is the fact they haven't had major injuries....

In 2008 the Swannies struggled once some of their "stars" starting missing games

I see Sydney missing out and probably Adelaide... and as for St Kilda the most over rated team in the comp....CYA ;D

That's right...see I told you they would drop out of the 8!!  :-[

I agree with you wayne on Adelaide, St Kilda, Collingwood and Sydney. I hope we give Sydney a towelling to make up for that 100 point loss I had to endue a couple of years past. North might be another slider.

That is why going to Sydney turned out to be one of my 'best' mistakes in many a year.

We are in front of the blooz and hope we keep it that way, they had some lucky wins and we had some unlucky losses - nuff said there.

Yep the Svannies are due Adelaide too pies and bears the roos also.

Bottom line is we have to take another step up otherwise we will not jump over anyone.
The ball is in our court so to say .....

We have games against Sydney and North in the first 6 rounds next year. They'll a big way to determine if we are to play finals or not. I'm gunning for us to knock off the Saints as well. We should have done it this year if we had kicked straight and had someone to take out that little pr... Milne  :banghead.
