Important 5 for 2009 in no particual order

Simmonds   Our quality ruckman whose mobility and ability to go forward and slot a couple is so vital to our sides structure

Richo   Huge focus point in the marking dept and who showed the ability in 2008 to be relied on to kick needed goals

Lids  Our on field game buster, quick and strong with great skills, an excitement machine

Moore   Will get the best big forward every week and will need to repeat his stellar 2008 season

Tuck  The workhorse in the middle, not overly flash but gets the job done

I agree with Chuck's analysis of Simmo, Lids, Moore, Richo and Tuck though I think Richo may have a quieter season anf Foley may step up with less attention from taggers.

I think the biggest improvers will be Bling (more time in the middle with the inclusion of Rance into the backline), Rance, Raines, Connors and Hughes. White may also sneak in building on last season.

Simmo - our ruck fortunes depend on him playing most of the season.

Moore - needs to back up his 2008 breakout year.

Lids

Richo - at 34 can the big fella keep up such a high standard. Hope so  :pray.

Foley

I was also tossing up Jack or Cleve. Nowhere near top 5 but we need our young tall forwards to step up as well. Richo is still our leading goalkicker despite moving up the ground and the next best are midsized/smalls in Browny, Morton and Lids.

Yep I wanted to put a KPP forward in there but to do so someone needs to step up badly.  I think Riewoldt will be better than good but still might be a few years away from being a player that can have an impact on a game.  Morton should always be serviceable and reliable for about 40 goals minimum a season.

richo, foley, lids, simmo and brown dog. 2009, year of the tambo
