Melbourne veteran Adem Yze is a surprise nomination for the AFL pre-season draft.

Yze was among four delisted players who lodged their nominations before the 2pm (AEDT) deadline on Tuesday.

As expected, former Fremantle onballer Josh Carr and Melbourne's Chris Johnson lodged their paperwork.

David Gourdis, who did not play a game for Richmond, also has nominated.
