Out: Raines, Bowden

In: Thompson, Silvestor (let's promote him and see what he can do - nothing to lose alot to gain :thumbsup)

I agree 100% with your Bowden for Silvester call WP. HAs been playing great footy for Coburg and has the muscle we need for monsters like Treadrea and Lloyd (when in forwardline).

Rance has passed Raines over now. When he is fit once again I would take Raines out long before Polo.

Thomson should get a shot in the middle soon.

thanks Stripes

Just to further clarify...

My idea re Silvestor is very simple

He is a mature aged rookie and this is last year to be eligible. Is it reasonable to make an assessment on him if he doesn't play senior AFL - I don't think so

We need to see what he can do, whether he is up to it.

Granted his first NAB cup game in 2008 wasn't great but his efforts in this years NAB pre-season a lot better. He is big and strong and reads the play very well indeed.

So many people keep saying we have no strong big bodied backman - Silvestor gives us that option

As I said we have absolutely nothing to lose but a bloody lot to gain if he shows enough

Out Raines Bowden

In Silvestor/Thursfield/Mcmahon Riewoldt

I thought Riewoldt's first six games were pretty crap and was calling for him to be dropped just so he could get his hands on the footy again, however am happy to include him back in after his game for Coburg.  I think he will ge a good player in the years to come just needs the experience and to bulk up.

Not too sure on the other in, don't know if we will need three talls against the Bummers (especially if Lucas doesnt play).  Hate to keep Raines in but may have no alternatives, not a big fan of McMahon but he may be needed if the game will be fast and flowing.

Hislop could be another in against his old team and a good performance for Coburg.

wp, can we still promote a rookie now that only richo is on the ltil? would be great to see silvestor get a go.
Browne kicking a couple in the ressies is encouraging too, hope he gets a go in the seniors.

Kane Johnson as far as I know is still on the LTIL - hence Nahas is still playing. Players have to be on it a minimum of 8 weeks but can be on it longer

IF Richo is on the LTIL then we certainly can promote another rookie

By mid season (sometime in June I think it is) we can have a rookie promoted without anyone on the LTIL. Which means in our case Nahas can play out the 2009 season

Injury list at Tuesday May 11, 2009:

Nathan Brown (groin) Test
Kane Johnson (knee) 2 weeks
Alex Rance (fractured cheekbone) 2-3 weeks
Matthew Richardson (hamstring) Long term injury list

...does this mean Kane is a week away from being off the ltil?

As soon as he is ready to play at any level he needs to come off the LTIL

With Benny now a definite OUT

I'd bring in Hislop against his old team

if the club was smart, this what should happen.
Sheedy to coach this week and remainder of year.
Hislop plays.
we would get 95,000 there ) our home game .-otherwise will we battle to get 50,000
Clubs would benefit  $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
it what has been a poor year so far.
only an idea ;)

[You listen to KB on SEN like me I suspect as it was mentioned, but I agree partly, put TW in the background for this game only (maybe co - coach) and give him a bit of a break (Sheedy could coach for one game only), I absolutely reject Sheedy coaching for the rest of the year. It is counter productive to dump a coach as it give the players the excuse Eventually they will decide they wont renew his contract if they haven't already (could win the next ten - LOL) and he will be directed to play the kids to see if they stack up and they might be close to doing that as well. I suspect your on a vendetta and it wont matter what I say]

Thomson in for Cuz
Leave the rest how it is as we need stabilty, only one unchanged team for the season doesnt help things much :banghead

He could be swapped for Jack but I would give him another chance in front of big crowd at the 'G to make up for that brain fade. I'd rather see Jack and Morton in the same forward line.
