When the transfer payment of a single player is $40m more than the whole TPP of the AFL it's hard to compare AFL to soccer in terms of $$$.

The above figures represent a missed opportunity for the Club  :(. We would've got a number of sponsor friendly high rating Friday night games next year if we had been half-decent and made the finals. Hopefully we now do things right and build a list that puts a successful team on the park in 3-4 years time so we don't miss out on these opportunities again. Our supporter base is incredible. Most clubs would be dead and long gone by now if they had run of outs we have had for 27 years.

Imagine what it must have been like supporting Sth Melbourne before 2005, or what it is like supporting St Kilda or the Bulldogs or Melbourne!!   :o

I only caught the end of the news grab on SEN as I was in another room but it said Richmond and Hawthorn have defied the downturn with big increases. I think they were talking about crowds/members.
