King, Polo? reported
« on: August 02, 2009, 06:44:06 PM »
I know King was reported for wrestling with Davey but it was mentioned on the radio (ABC) during the game that Polo may have been reported for headbutting. Does anyone know if Deano has?

All reports at this point in time are just stating that King and Davey were the only reports for wrestling each other.

Ta Tucky and GR. Let's hope the MRP are in a generous lenient mood.

Here's the MRP report:

Jake King, Richmond, has been charged with a second offence for wrestling Melbourne’s Aaron Davey during the first quarter of the Round 18 match between Richmond and Melbourne, played at the MCG on Sunday August 2, 2009.

In summary, he can accept a $1800 sanction with an early plea.

A second offence for wrestling is a $2400 sanction. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to a $1800 sanction.

The match day report laid against Melbourne’s Aaron Davey for wrestling Richmond’s Jake King was assessed. The panel said Davey was not active in the wrestle. King instigated the wrestle and continued it, while Davey remained passive. No further action was taken

Contact between Richmond’s Dean Polo and Melbourne’s Matthew Bate from the third quarter of Sunday’s match was assessed. The impact was below that required to constitute a reportable offence. No further action was taken.
