LAWYER and former players' union chairman Brendon Gale will definitely be among the applicants for the vacant CEO position of the AFL Players' Association which is being advertised nationally. A 244-game former Richmond player, Gale is working with the organisation and made it obvious to us this week that, if appointed, he would seek to promote greater harmony between the players and the football media.
A SUCCESSFUL Gale campaign could leave a vacant football chair on Channel Nine's Sunday panel which he occupied admirably this year. It is thought it could come down to a choice of out-of-work coaches Gary Ayres or Danny Frawley.
