One of the papers today (I think it was the HUN) reckons Temel has become a smokie in the draft

Kicked 19 goals in the last 3 games after kicking 49.12 goals for the season

Hmmmmmmmmmm  ;D

In my opinion any club using a pick inside the first 50 picks for Temel are idiots. He is a VFL standard player. Id feel sick if we picked him with any pick up to mid 60s. If he is available after that then ok but before then and its a bulltish decision.

Temel kicked 2 today in Calder's win over Eastern.

Griffiths apparently went down with an injury in the 1st quarter. Not sure what it is yet.

griffiths does seem to get injured quite a bit.  tho that might be alright as it may make the chance of him falling to our 2nd round pick higher.  i like.

A question for those on here that watch a bit of these kids - is Butcher good enough to justify pick #3?  I only ask because he doesn't appear to have been setting the world on fire in his own age group recently and I wonder if he has enough 'development' in him to become a true long term key forward?

He did play for Maffra yesterday.

Kicked a goal and was named in the bests.

From this we can agree it is a joint either knee or shoulder, unless it has moved of course

Wonder if it rules him out of the draft camp

Unbelievable finish to a game! As a neutral I wasnt fussed who won either way, but Maffra should have won that game by 6 goals so the right result came thru at the end. Butcher, what do you say, should have won game off own boot, but nearly lost them the game, first time seeing him and very impressed. Dont know who he was but #7 from Maffra was a standout for me in second half.

Thanks Wayne.  Sounds like he can mix it so that eases the fears somewhat.  :thumbsup

i dont know what you make of his bad kicking.

All reports suggest he has a terrible kicking technique.

do we really want someone who has suspect kicking, we have quite a few already.

Then again Nick R has a dodgy kick but is a deadset supersdtar
Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

We've had Richo for 17 seasons and he can't kick for goal. Now we'll have Butcher. ;D

You don't lose the ability to get the footy just as Richo hasn't over the years.
Just needs the right nurturing and that 1-7 will turn around and be 5-3 one day with the right development and boost to his confidence. KPP'S with GC and WS imminent arrival will be as rare as hence teeth in the early rounds of drafts. We need to pick Butcher up with our pick 3.

Here are some results from the W.A. state screening ......

Height
2. Joel Houghton 194.3cm

Agility run
5. Joel Houghton 8.53 sec

20m Shuttle Run
1. Joel Houghton 15.1
Has anyone here seen enough of Houghton to say he'd be someone we'd look at at say pick 35? Is he someone who has some natural footy ability or is he another Gourdis (an athlete instead of a footballer)?

Here's some youtube footage of Houghton:

Impressive, apart from the drop of the ball whilst kicking looks pretty well the full package. Reminds me of Lucus in his hay day
