« on: September 13, 2009, 05:24:17 PM »
Who do you folks think will top the votes for the Tigers and who will win the Brownlow?

By the way Cuz will be on the RFC table according to the gossip pages of the Herald-Sun...

Old flame is Ben's date
Sunday Herald Sun, 13-09-2009, Pg: 111

IT appears Tigers star Ben Cousins will take ex-girlfriend Maylea Tinecheff to the Brownlow. Sources said the mother of two, 37, had been shopping for dresses in hometown Perth.

doesn't Ben have a girlfriend? i thought he did.

maybe Ben or Deledio will top the Tigers.

like to think Jackson, but "flashing players" get votes.

Jacko was invited but will be OS so Browny is going in his place.

Top Tiger: Lids or Cuz. Blingers I think may be in our top 3. I don't think we'll get a player into double figures though given our year :-\.

Think Lids will top this year at tiggys ....

Had Richoman last year each way @ 100 or something like that early on - that was a nail biter - got a good profit.

Think Ablettttttttt Jnr may take this one - but what odds Reiwoldt - haven't checked yet  :-\ May be a good e/w ah

I think St Kilda players will take votes off each other.

I hoe Ablett does not win it. Tries to be too spectacular to attract attention from umpires by trying to kick the spectacular goal too often or taking on too many players.
I just feel there is something a little selfish in that. Alot of stats are also handball receives and in some big stat returns he has 10 kicks to 30 handballs. In his 46 posession game against Adelaide in rd 5 he kick to handball ratio was 1 kick to every 3 to 4 handballs. Selwood is the real star from Geelong.

Sneaky hundred on J. Brown.

78 goals spending half his time at CHF is a great return. Does the brave things that umpires see. One of the top dogs in an overachieving team. Skipper so umpires notice him from the off.

$8,100 if it happens.

edit: 1,000th post its taken me a while to get there.... cheers WP and MT for keeping the place running and putting out the spotfires :thumbsup

Another slow news day in the Hun:

Tigers captain Chris Newman will walk the blue carpet with a more attractive date than last year when he partnered Matthew Richardson. This year the AFL star is taking his girlfriend of two years, Lauren Poulter.

It will be the first Brownlow for Ms Poulter, who works in accounts for a building company.

"I'm nervous, but excited," she said.

Chris and Lids are front page in the Age "M" magazine and feature in a Brownlow fashion story.

What is the lowest position a Brownlow medalists team has finished in the year they won it?

I can only think of Crawf's Hawks coming 9th in '99.

Going back did anyone ever go close to the spoon and win the Brownlow?

I can remember Paul Kelly at the Swans in 95. I think they finished 12th or 13th when he won it. 16 team comp
Plugger won in it 87 and the Saints finished in the 10-12 range I believe just off the top of my head. 14 team comp
Bryan Wilson and Peter Moore won for the Dees in 82 and 84. Dees would have finished 8th or 9th in those seasons. 12 team comp.
Barry Round in 81 for South Swans would have finished 9th. 12 team comp.
Kelvin Templeton for Footscray in 1980. Dogs would have finished 10th or 11th as Fitzroy won the spoon that year. 12 team comp.
