He could very well end up staying if his dad wasn't aware of his latest move  :rollin

I have no problem with him staying IF it is for the clubs original offer. Doesn't change the fact he needs to get his act together and change who his player manager is... Carr is a toss.

If Carlton can afford to pay overs for Thomas as a free agent and then another 600 for Martin on top of all their other players and we are apparently scraping the barrel for money in the salary cap something is seriously wrong!
Has nothing to do with salary cap being near 100%, not sure where this has been reported but it is not true?

It's been stated many times by the RFC that they will not deviate from their payment strategy model (the same Geelong use). Purpose of this is that they don't have any 1 player getting paid massive amounts and that we can stay competitive in free agency etc. Also ensures there is room for payments to the developing players when they come good to pay them more.

My post had nothing to do with us not paying Martin the 600k for salary cap issues, it was just a much broader statement about how reporters are saying we're near the cap and then suddenly Carlton seems to have a never ending cap
Reporters . . . they say whatever they want. They have probably assumed we are 'near 100%' as we will not budge on our offers and payment strategy for contract negotiations. I'd be very confident in saying that Dan Richardson is well on top of what he is doing and we will soon be in a position where we always 'appear' to have that extra cash to lure some bigger names.  ;)

if hes gone hes gone its out of our control.

hate to lose him especially if we get nothing in return.
hoping we can turn a negative into a positive.
relly hope someone outside of gws want him. we have no bargaining power if he goes there.

i remember paul roos was willing to offer up picks 6 and 14 in 2009 for pick 3 to get a crack at dustin martin. i wonder if roosey hasnt finally got his man.
pick 2 and melbournes 2nd rounder pick 21  for martin and pick 46.
that would be better than a poke in the pants with a blunt stick which is what we will get if he goes to gws.

Oh yeahhh you just made me realise that. I think flossy is due for a call up if Dusty leaves. Won't take me long at all to change just one player.

Back on topic, if it turns out that GWS are the only club who wants him, isn't that saying something?? Could GWS afford both Dusty and Buddy? I guess that would equal 1 Israel Folau  ;D

the biggest blunder ever in AFL football & what more was a real kick in the guts to every AFL player for 2 NRL bozo's to be paid money like that ever in the history. just proves Andrew Demetriou is a idiot
