Reaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllyyyyyyyyyyy....... :whistle :whistle :whistle

Al?????????

“He reminds me a bit of a Mark Riccuito. A guy who played half-back, midfield and forward as well,” Hardwick said.

OMFG WAT. THE COACH (HARDWICK, NOT ME) SAYS DUSTY IS LIKE ROO WHO ALSO PLAYED DOWN BACK. Now, wasn't Hardwick correct when he said he wanted more goals out of Cotch? Or do you only pick and choose quotes to suit your argument?

REAAALLLLYYY YEAAAAAH

COME ON BOYS. WE'RE ONLY 2-3, LETS GET OUR stuffING poo TOGETHER AND KICKING SOME stuffING ASS

Hardwicks plan for Dusty has clearly NOT worked, couldn't care less who he compares him to. Just because I agree with comments on Cotch it doesn't mean I agree with what he has done with Dusty or Reiwoldt for that matter, another decision he was wrong about!!!!!

Dusty is not a midfielder's backside. Doesn't work both ways near enough.
He was very sloppy the other night both with the ball and defensively.
I often wonder to myself if he is the cancer in this playing list?
Play him forward sure, maybe he'll snag a few goals but geez he is one of the most overrated players on our list.

Rance, Dusty, who else is the cancer in this playing list?

Surely there are other ways to teach Dusty how to be more defensively minded then plonking him in the backline and have us lose games?

He has been a natural goalkicker all his life, even as a 15 year old kid he was kicking bags of 4 and 5 off a half forward flank against men in the Bendigo Footy League.

Playing him in defence is about as stupid an idea as Hardwick has ever had.

Completely with WAT and TBR here. He could do some damage across half back but his overall impact would be greatly reduced. So dangerous up forward. You can see opposition defenders soil themselves.

l never read what King had to write & l wont.

If he knew anything he would be coaching right. But we were in our darkest when he was at the club. So please King you should be writing junk about your own club The failing KANGAROOS  ;D

Richmond should play Dustin Martin deep in attack, says Fox Footy expert David King
Herald-Sun
April 18, 2014 6:00PM

Martin booted 79.69 in 2011-3 and has amassed the clear second-most shots on goal for Richmond behind spearhead Jack Riewoldt in that time.

Riewoldt pointed to Martin’s 55 shots last year, saying the Tigers need him to get to dangerous spots, while Hardwick praised his versatility.

Martin is a crap kick for goal, stats say it all. He's a great kick for where he wants it to go, e.g another player, he just can't get it through the big ones often enough.
Centre or backline UNTIL he learns to kick straight for goal, and when he does, he will be awesome forward.
Never stopped them playing Richo up forward... :whistle
:lol I use to close my eyes every time he kicked for goal, how he kicked 800 goals baffles me.

Stats say stuff all, if stats say it all Grigg was in Brownlow medal form last night. Backline my arse...he kicks the goals he needs to at the times we need him too.
Hardly, he's kicked a couple of goals that have stood out and yes when we needed them, but that's it.
2013
23 goals and 32 behinds is NOT kicking goals when he needs to.
It's a shocking stat, even if he does have a shot from 50 out.

He needs to learn how to kick goals.
He creates beautifully and does a shitload of other fantastic stuff and yes he will be classed as elite one day.
He is a lazy kick for goal and needs to improve dramatically.

i reckon what gets missed here and needs to be asked ,  is martin needed across hb ???  do we already have good options???

to me the answers are no martin is not needed across hb because we do have good options.

if we are looking for good users coming out use ellis. use deledio we use vlastuin hes a very good kick and hes a damn good decision maker. you want more grunt use conca across hb. we could try helbig there and ffs both dea and mcintosh some time this yr will need to be given games there. finally there is a very good and  wise option to use lennon in his formative yr across h/b.
we have a bloke capable of kicking probably 40 45 even 50   goals a yr and give good service in the midfield while at it, thats   more than any other option and we want to play him back when there are numerous options  to play back there. go figure.

He is a lazy kick for goal and needs to improve dramatically.

One thing I have noticed a few times this year when he is having set shots is that he looks like he is gasping that much for air, he takes a heap of time just standing and then almost has to rush the kick.

He is the only player this year I have been aware of the umpire pressuring him that the time for the set shot is almost up.

He's not fit enough. It's why his game is scattered with errors and he doesn't work hard enough defensively.
He'll forever have the tag 'one way player' until he corrects this.

If Dusty was at Geelong or Hawks he'd be talked about as the greatest midfield/forward weapon the AFL has seen.

At Richmond he's inconsistant, lazy, disappointing etc etc.

Says it all.
