Wait? There would've been an army of oppo flogs posting & tweeting it within a minute of the goal... :shh

From Barrett's Sliding Doors column:

IF … Dusty was quiet against his old teammate Conca on Wednesday night ...

THEN … it mattered little, given the Tigers' ability to fight through their lethargy. And I really liked seeing him fire up, when he felt the tactics crossed the line. It sent a very loud "do not dare mess with me" to those who may have planned to do the same in coming weeks.

Anyone else think his snap in I think the third quarter was actually a goal? They didn’t show a replay but sure looked like a goal watching live.

Thought so too, until the ump signalled it touched the post (blink and you will miss it)

Dusty's game tonight:

28 disposals (16k, 12h, 16c, 14u, 42.9% eff.) ... most disposals but poorest efficiency.
12 turnovers
6 marks (2 contested)
4 clearances (3 centre clearances)
6 inside 50s
496 metres gained
0 tackles
2 intercepts
1 hitout
6 score involvements
1 goal assist
1 goal

-------------------------------------------------------

Media reports had him in the top 3 players on the ground.

ARISE MR OCTOBER

By his own lofty standards, Martin hasn't set 2020 alight, posting career-low disposal and tackle numbers this season and accruing his most modest goal tally since 2016.

It hasn't mattered.

Martin is timing his peak perfectly. Not for the first time a thorn in Adelaide's side in September, Martin played as well as he has all season, quelling everything and everyone the Crows threw at him. Mr September looks ready for October.

I thought he was great despite some poor disposals.

Excellent marking, which isn't always his strength.

Another lazy 12 goal finals series will be nice :D

Dustin Martin

Burst out of the blocks, but as Lachie Neale made up ground, Dusty slowed down significantly. A victim of his own high standards in finals, but many would’ve been hoping for a bit more from the two-time Norm Smith Medallist.

Generous in my opinion.

He butchered the ball all night especially inside 50. Didn’t impact the score board at all. His penetration was negligible.
