If he is as skilled as you say (and I have no idea about him at all) then size and aerial ability will matter little. Give me a good little bloke rather than an average mid size player any day. I think many clubs make the mistake of being too blinkered when it comes to height and some potentially good players slip through the cracks based on height alone.

180cm. I use to pinch hit in the ruck when needed but mostly played key position back or forward, especially CHB. That sounds funny when you compare it to the size of AFL players doesn't it! I just have a feeling (based on seeing so many fantastic little blokes play at all levels over the years) that the modern game doesn't pay shorter players enough respect, to the game's detriment. In the modern style of less contested packs and more keepings off I think a good little bloke could be more effective and damaging than ever but the AFL clubs as a whole don't see it that way. Personally, I would see this as a potentially fruitful area to investigate further over the next few years of compromised drafts when looking for the hidden gems. Just my opinion though.
