our ruck man did alright i thought ... just the carlton players kept tacking the ball after we would try and pass it in the Mid and ruck,,, i reckon we need better forwards (we should have looked at big bad bazza) we had too many points that should have been goals.

Rival round: Richmond VS Umpires  :banghead

our ruckmen were poo, u r wrong, open ur eyes

I would like to see use player three ruckmen in the side against the Dogs with one resting on the bench, one rotating through the forwardline and the other taking the ruck contests in the middle and back half. One the biggest problems, it seemed, was that Simmo just did not have the endurance to play out the game and make it to the contests whereas Vickery is still too small in everything other than the center bounce.

We need more talls int he forwardline regardless and until Stbury and Griffiths can get on the park, a 3rd ruck could be the answer - my choice Browne, given immediate form.

Jack 100% incorrect sorry mate.

Vickory spent about 30% game time as a forward. Simmonds not once played forward and was our main ruckman. Agree Vickory missed contests but missed half as many as Simmons missed. Simmonds was the main culprit. It may be part of our structure of our defensive zone and Hardwick tried to shark off the oppositions taps. If it happens next week Im sure some journo will pick up on it and ask a question and we'll find out.

If it's not a direct instruction Simmonds simple cannot be selected until he plays a good game at VFL level. Earn his spot please.

I sat in the Southern Stand and can tell you in the third quarter Simmo played out of the Goal Square for a 6 min period.
Also on several occassions , Vickery was confused and actually ran away from the throw ins ::).
I would suggest this, that Vickery was confused on who he was playing on as they had two ruckman on the ground at once , and Vickery rang back to there other Ruckman , either Warnock or kruszer in the middle corridor.

At times it was Warnock and Kruzer in the ruck vs either Reiwoldt or no Richmond ruckman.

How did we do alright ??   :o

I can see why they kept Simmonds on.
Tyrone Vickery isnt going to make it , why ?
He is way too femine.
He plays the game like a girl, flaps his arms and adds nothing .
Graham like wise.
We need to look at BROWNE ASAP.
At least Browne has a go and what I seen at Coburg on the weeknd, we have something to work with, Graham and Vickery NOTHING

Vickery in the TAC Cup was using elbows, he looked like he could develop into a hard bastard type of ruck...dont know why hes playing like he is, its not reflective of how he was playing junior footy.

Ramps I really reckon it is the reason why ruckmen take so long to develop is because they go from being the standout big person they play against to playing against men where it is not only the opposition ruckmen who can match them for body size but other KPP position players.

Vickers needs to grow and from my point of view for a young developing ruckmen is showing good signs.

Go and watch Roughead for the Dogs.
You need big men who can at least have a presence on the ground and at least iron someone out occasionily.
Vickery couldnt iron the collar on his shirt

Vickery developing into what may I ask ?. A netballer ?? If it wasnt for his dad being down there, he would never of got to punt rd.Have a look at Roughead for the Bulldogs on Friday night, we are dreaming.
The club know that Simmonds is finished, but Vickery aint going to be the answer.
BRING ON BROWNE

i think vickery's first quarter was bloody great against sandilands, but obviously got physically worked over as the game went on and it showed! He's tracking just fine, but really needs to put on 8-10 kg's
