Bump!!

Been a life long Richmond Supporter and have just moved to Melbourne, when stumbling across Richmond Central's I couldn't resist the temptation of playing for a club called Richmond and wearing the yellow and black. I'm one of many new recruits and it should hopefully be a successful year for the club.

The link between the clubs are still going with members of the Snakes meeting with Wayne Campbell last night in the new Punt Road facilities to discuss different match day tactics etc.  :thumbsup

Season kicks off for the Centrals tomorrow against South Mornington with the game to be played at Kevin Bartlett Reserve.

Had one of the founding members of the club at the jumper presentation last night in Carmine Miranda and it was great to hear about how the club was originally formed. We have over 90 registered players on our list now and have made a 3rds team which will play in the Clubbies competition. Cannot wait to pull on the yellow and black tomorrow arvo!!

Both the seniors and reserves are sitting at 8-3 at this stage of the season and both looking to cement themselves in the top 2 for the finals!

Should be a really good year, we're starting to hit our straps, just need the AFL Richmond lads to start notching up a few wins!

Richmond Central has qualified for its first Grand Final in 16 years, with a resounding win over local rivals Swinburne. The match will be played at W.A. Scammell Reserve (Oakleigh) on Saturday the 10th of September at 2pm.

Kicking against a strong wind in the first quarter, the Centrals kicked the first goal for the game thanks to a quick snap from the in-form Hollywood. After two boundary line set shot goals from the Razorbacks, some feverish defence and rebounding led to a late Snakes goal which gave us the lead at quarter time.

The game was blown wide open in the second quarter, as the Centrals slamed home 5 goals to 1 to take a 6 goal lead into the main break. The half back line and mid-fielders did a terrific job, forcing turnovers that led to quick goals from long range. The Razors were lucky to be in the match at half time, such was the dominance of the Snakes.

Richmond kicked the first two goals of the third quarter, once again into the howling gale, to snuff out any chance of a Swinburne revival.

If you’re a big fan, get down to the club rooms Thursday night and watch the boys train for the last time. Meals will be served from 7:30pm, and the bar will be open.

A bunch of us will be meeting at the Junction Oakleigh about midday - I know there is a few snakes on this site so get on down, George Tongue Shane Parker a few other blasts from the past will be there - George is doing his usual rounding up of the troops and should be a good game.

The boys ended up losing the GF last year but managed to gain promotion to Div 3 and are sitting nicely in 4th place at the moment. Grand Final rematch is on this weekend, hoping for a bit of revenge!

Bump!

Just an update guys, I see there was a mention of our new U18 team on here as well, which is going to help our club immensely over the coming seasons with a constant flow of players from Richmond Juniors.

Our second season in D3 of the ammo's and we're currently sitting in 2nd position at 5-1.

From memory we were in a similar position last year before dropping ight off with injuries and lack of depth. The best part of this is that we have had our fair share of injuries this year but our depth is a lot better with our reserves sitting on top of the ladder, currently undefeated.

I noticed a few of the posters on here are past players, if you haven't been contacted by the club please let me know. One of our past Captains, David 'Spanker' Speakman, is looking after the Past Players of RCAFC and sends out regular emails.
